About Us

The cell is committed to the Constitutional Mandate of equality and social justice in campus.

To provide an environment that facilitates the academic and professional development of students, teachers, and Non-teaching staff belonging to the SC

The mandate of the SC/ST Cell is to address all issues related to caste-based discrimination, and grievances of the SC/ST students, faculty, and Staff members of the University.

To ensure, protect and promote the interest of persons belonging to the SC/ST Category.


Functions of the Cell

To deal with the representations received from SC and ST students regarding their admission.

To address the issues and complaints involving, discrimination and unequal opportunities provided to the SC/ST students, Faculty, and Staff members.

To implement the reservation policy for SC/ST students and employees in the University, and adhere to the guidelines of the UGC and Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Implementation of reservation policy in admission, recruitment, hostel, and house allotments.

To sensitize the University community towards the specific needs of the persons belonging to SC/ST category.

To inform and assist students to avail of various scholarships provided by the Government.

To counsel and guide SC/ST students and employees on various issues and to help them manage the academic needs of university life effectively.

The Cell endeavors to undertake any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among the members of SC/ST members.


Activities/ Events Organized

Organized a program on the celebration of 73rd Constitution day on 28th November 2022 on the topic of “Fundamental Rights and duties”. Prof. G. Haragopal, Visiting Professor, National Law School of India, Bangalore was the key speaker of the event.

Organized a seminar on the occasion of the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on 14th April 2022 on the topic ‘Importance of Ambedkarism in Modern India”. Sh. K.C. Pippal, Retd. IES & former Additional Economic Advisor, GoI and Sh. Baldev Singh Bhadran, Former Additional Advocate General, High Court of Punjab & Haryana were the key speaker of the event.

On the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a book stall was set up on 14th April 2022. Different books related to Baba Sahib’s life and teachings were distributed.

Organized a webinar on the celebration of 72nd Constitution day on 26th November 2021 on the topic of “Fundamental Rights and duties”. Prof. Abdulrahim P. Vijapur, Professor, AMU, Aligarh was the key speaker of the event.
